Black Velvet Distilling

This multi-stage large scale storage facility was completed in 2015 and allows for approx. 64,000 sq. ft. of additional warehousing for the client. The main structure is a pre-engineered steel building comprised of 2 cells separated by a 4 HR precast firewall. Adjacent to the main structure is a 400 sq. ft. self-framer constructed purposely to accommodate the main electrical & controls. The project delivery method was design-build turnkey and constructed in phases allowing the owner to utilize Cell # 1 while the 2nd cell was being completed. The design requirements of the project mandated FM Global standards that are above & beyond typical construction standards and included highly specialized air monitoring & ventilation, draft curtains, and a pre-action fire sprinkler system. To accommodate the addition of this facility on the existing property ex-tensive site work was required along with the addition of a storm water retention pond.
