Southwest and Midwest Design & Construction: Leading Experts in Post Frame Builds Across Alberta

When it comes to practical construction builds that offer both strength and versatility, post frame buildings in Alberta are undoubtedly a top choice.

At Southwest and Midwest Design & Construction (SWMW), we’ve honed our expertise in this method. We’ve consistently delivered sturdy post frame buildings that meet the unique needs of Alberta’s industrial, agricultural, and commercial sectors.

With over four decades of experience, we take our reputation for excellence in post frame construction seriously. From barns and warehouses to commercial facilities and workshops, we bring unmatched quality, efficiency, and innovation to each project.

What is Post Frame Construction?

Post-frame construction is a building technique that uses large poles, or posts, as the primary structural support.

These posts are buried deep into the ground or anchored to a foundation, which reduces the need for extensive interior support walls, creating a spacious, adaptable environment. These builds are highly durable and efficient across multiple sectors.

At SWMW, we’ve adopted post frame techniques for a variety of reasons:

  • Durability: The sturdy design can withstand harsh weather – which is ideal for Alberta’s harsh winters and hot summers.

  • Cost-Effectiveness: Fewer materials and faster build times mean lower costs for you.

  • Versatility: With minimal internal supports, post frame buildings can accommodate open floor plans, perfect for agricultural, commercial, and industrial purposes.
