Inuvik Regional Hospital

Midwest Design & Construction in conjunction and SAHURI were contracted by Public Works to remove and reinstall the concrete floor system within the operating room in the Inuvik Regional Hospital.

The first stage of this work was to determine the cause of the flooring damage. A structural study was completed in conjunction with TRL & Associates Engineering, and the underlying issues were reviewed and understood prior to the work being completed. This report established operational strategies to ensure future monitoring and maintenance of the foundation systems to thereby avoid future damage.

Infection Prevention and Control protocols were a key component in the project. In addition, careful construction phasing was required to ensure minimal disruption of day-to-day activities of the facility during construction.

Protocols and procedures were created and maintained by Midwest Design & Construction allowing this crucial component to the healthcare system to come back online in 2015.
