IDC Corporate Office Renovation
Project Size
45, 000 SqFt
Location
NWT
Year of Work
2014
The Inuvialuit Development Corporation has a 45,000 sf², three-floor office structure in Inuvik. Unfortunately, this building suffered extensive damage from a fire and the water used during fire suppression efforts. Midwest Design & Construction were contracted to completely renovate the existing space. This work included the removal of damaged portions, restructuring of the building as well as creation and finishing of new office spaces. As the hub location for the IDC the corporate office is a vital piece of their infrastructure and therefore the timeliness in getting tenants back into the space was paramount. Due to the nature of repair and renovation work Midwest needed to maintain open involvement with the ownership and design team to maintain control over the evolving scope.
