Inuvik Community Centre

Nappaq and Mid-West Design & Construction were contracted to design and build a 10,000 sf² facility, spread over two floors, as a community centre in Inuvik.

The project, completed in 2014, was comprised of traditional wood frame construction on an infill lot. The space was designed for a multitude of uses and addresses the need within the community for meeting space, creative development, and continuing cultural exposure. Nappaq and Mid-West designed the structure to tie in to the existing utilidor system. The highlight of the building’s exterior is the inclusion of artwork that showcases the traditional way of life in the North.
