Barnwell Water Treatment Plant

This 2870 sq.ft. Pre-Engineered Behlen Corr Span Dub’L steel building system was constructed in 2006 for the Town of Barnwell for their Water Treatment Plant.

Grovedale Fire Hall

Southwest Design & Construction in Grande Prairie completed the Grovedale Fire Hall in December of 2016.  The 17,500 sq ft building features a 12″ thermal roof system, 4″ steel foam core wall panels, in-floor heating, hose drying/training towers and a STARS Air Ambulance helipad.

Highway 8 Emergency Centre

Completed through a lump sum contract with S2 Architecture, this two storey building is home to the Rocky View County Fire Department. Rocky View County Fire Department provides fire protection services to the Elbow Valley and Bragg Creek communities.

The newly constructed facility has accommodations to house 10-15 firemen. The facility includes two drive-thru bays to house fire trucks and equipment. The emergency centre features a modern kitchen, workout facilities, lounge area and meeting rooms.

Inuvik Regional Hospital

O.R. FLOORING REPLACEMENT

Nappaq, and Mid-West Design & Construction, in conjunction and SAHURI were contracted by Public Works to remove and reinstall the concrete floor system within the operating room in the Inuvik Regional Hospital.

The first stage of this work was to determine the cause of the flooring damage. A structural study was completed in conjunction with TRL & Associates Engineering, and the underlying issues were reviewed and understood prior to the work being completed. Milk River Fire Hall

This Fire Station was completed as a Design-Build turnkey project complete with a 60’ x 80’ x 20’ pre-engineered steel building designed to Post Disaster requirements.

The building features a standing seam roof system, full height interior metal liner, one overhead truck fill and 1,200 sq ft of developed space with mezzanine above housing offices, washrooms & a fitness area.
This Fire Station was completed as a Design-Build turnkey project complete with a 60’ x 80’ x 20’ pre-engineered steel building designed to Post Disaster requirements.

Champion Fire Hall

The Champion Fire Hall was a successful RFP submission to the County of Vulcan for a 3,750 ft2 steel building with a 750 ft2 mezzanine. The building consists of 3 bays for fire and EMS equipment.

Additionally, the project includes offices, a compressor room, male and female washrooms, training room, boardroom and an exercise room.

The construction of a clear span building meets or succeeds the New Energy Code in Alberta. This project was very cost-effective, meeting all the customer’s needs.

Nampa Civic Centre & Museum

This project is completed through a Design-Build form of contract with Southwest Design & Construction Ltd. and Field Engineering & Associates Ltd.

This 18,000 ft² building is the new home for the Northern Sunrise County/Town of Nampa Museum and Civic Centre offices.  This new structure is comprised of a main floor (12,000 ft²) for the Museum as well as two stories of office space (6,000 ft² – both floors combined).  The building is constructed as a Shop Fabricated Wood Structure with Pre-Fabricated Wood Trusses, Stone Veneer and Asphalt Shingles.

Manning Regional Fire Hall

The Manning Regional Fire Hall project included two individual and economically designed, pre-engineered steel building packages from Nucor Building Systems.

Building one is a two-story structure containing administrative offices as well as a kitchen whereas building two contains four drive-thru truck and apparatus bays and full mezzanine. The project also includes a strategically located 36-foot high hose drying tower.

Inuvik Community Centre

The space was designed for a multitude of uses and addresses the need within the community for meeting space, creative development, and continuing cultural exposure. PARDS Administration and Riding Centre

Manufactured in Canada by BEHLEN Industries out of Brandon, Manitoba, the main building is a frameless steel building with a convex roof system and is energy efficient with R40 walls and R50 ceiling. The facility includes one large arena that can be partitioned off by a heavy-duty curtain creating two private riding arenas. The front of the building contains offices, training rooms, therapy rooms, a kitchen and a boardroom.

Inuvik Water Treatment Plant

Nappaq Design & Construction were engaged to expand the Inuvik water treatment plant in order to provide fresh water for the community from the Mackenzie River year-round.

This project included pre-engineered 5,000 sqft addition to the existing building, a 600 sqft pump house, as well as upgrading the existing 4,000 sqft facility. The project scope also included a new water treatment system including piping, pumps, controls, filtration systems and a year-round water intake line from the water source.

KPC (Kenna Professional Campus)

Full renovation of an existing call center to a multi-tenant commercial/professional space.

The space includes common meeting rooms, shared lunch facilities and public washrooms. Upgraded finishes throughout the space showcase the clean modern design and harmonize the different tenant spaces with common design elements.

A portion of the existing base building was also separated off for use as a church adding to the variety of usage within the project space.

District of Chetwynd Municipal Hall

The Chetwynd Municipal Hall is a two-story wood frame structure with cathedral ceilings supported by glulam trusses. Wood was used extensively as the primary structure of the building, with 80 per cent of the 18,000 sq ft building being wood. Weight-bearing columns, which are also constructed of wood, support massive glulam beams. The exterior of the building is finished with log features, Hardie plank and faux stone.
