Completed on time and on budget, this state of the art, heavy truck maintenance facility features all of the required amenities of a standalone facility however it compliments an existing recycling building. The building is designed to be compact and highly efficient due to the high site traffic volumes and reduced land area. This facility was the first of its kind but has now been replicated in several locations by the owner which speaks to its well-planned design and functionality.

Viterra Tempest – Red Lintel Cleaning Facility

Located along highway 3 east of Coaldale, Alberta, this project was completed as a supply and erect contract.
Included within this was not only the pre-engineered building but also two pre-engineered structural towers. The building expansion accommodates processing, cleaning and conveyance equipment whereas the towers support bulk storage and unloading equipment. Dinosaur Provincial Park Central Hall

The central hall is the hub of staff activities in Dinosaur Provincial Park. It features an assembly area that can be used for activities or as a dining hall with a break room that has a 14’ high partition curtain to separate the areas for meetings. The building also has a large kitchen area with commercial stainless steel appliances and a pass through with a roll shutter. IDC Corporate Office Renovation

The Inuvialuit Development Corporation has a 45,000 sf², three-floor office structure in Inuvik. Unfortunately, this building suffered extensive damage from a fire and the water used during fire suppression efforts. Nappaq, and Mid-West Design & Construction were contracted to completely renovate the existing space.

O.R. FLOORING REPLACEMENT

Nappaq, and Mid-West Design & Construction, in conjunction and SAHURI were contracted by Public Works to remove and reinstall the concrete floor system within the operating room in the Inuvik Regional Hospital.

Blue Wave Energy Office-Shop Building

This project is completed through a Design, Build, Supply, Erect/Install form of contract with Southwest Design & Construction Ltd. and Swamp Donkey Oilfield Services Inc.  This 16,000 Square Foot building is the new home to Blue Wave Energy of Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

This new structure is comprised of a two story office, shop and wash bay complete with a full wall and ceiling liner package.

The building is constructed as a Pre-Engineered steel building complete with high efficiency 5” thick Nucor Insulated Roof panels and 4” thick Nucor Insulated Wall panels. 

This project is completed through a Design, Build, Supply, Erect/Install form of contract with Southwest Design & Construction Ltd. and Swamp Donkey Oilfield Services Inc.  This 16,000 Square Foot building is the new home to Blue Wave Energy of Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Black Velvet Distilling

This multi-stage large scale storage facility was completed in 2015 and allows for approx. 64,000 sq. ft. of additional warehousing for the client. The main structure is a pre-engineered steel building comprised of 2 cells separated by a 4 HR precast firewall. 

Adjacent to the main structure is a 400 sq. ft. self-framer constructed purposely to accommodate the main electrical & controls. The project delivery method was design-build turnkey and constructed in phases allowing the owner to utilize Cell # 1 while the 2nd cell was being completed.

Western Tractor

The main floor of this 32,000 sq. ft. pre-engineered steel structure is an industrial shop with cranes, retail, parts and service.  The second floor provides office and administration space.  The structure took 10.5 weeks to erect and enclose.

Dueck

The existing concrete block structure located at 2716 2nd Ave North, Lethbridge was in need of some maintenance and refinishing. Working in conjunction with the building owner the existing building was first insulated adding 2” of rigid insulation, gaining R15 to the existing building. The building was then cladded in 26 gauge material and finished with decorative banding, flashings and trim.

The entire process was completed while the multiple tenants of the building continued to work. This type of work can be completed under most any weather conditions since it is an improvement to the existing shell and does not compromise...

This 105,520 sq ft facility located at the northeast corner of Coaldale, AB houses a high-tech manufacturing facility with warehouse & offices.

Both of the pre-engineered steel buildings have standing seam roof systems & the office annex features a perimeter parapet to give the appearance of a flat roof that also includes a cultured stone veneer.

The warehouse features a 2-bay receiving and an 8-bay loading dock and includes an expandable rigid frame endwall for ease of expansion in the future.

This modular home manufacturing facility was recently expanded to increase the clients overall production, provide additional staff offices and washrooms, update the facilities existing paint applications and accommodate a need for additional material storage.

Completed as a design-build contract, each and every one of the client's needs were incorporated into the final design.

In addition to this project, Southwest Design & Construction Ltd. has also completed a 9,600 ft² (892 m²) cold storage building as well as an 11,520 ft² (1,070 m²) truss plant and welding shop.

Completed as a joint venture, this major project included a 53’ tall, 12,560 ft², pre-engineered steel building addition including office mezzanines, two full height and width firewalls, laboratories, packaging and production areas, washrooms, stairwells and warehousing areas. Highway 8 Emergency Centre

Completed through a lump sum contract with S2 Architecture, this two storey building is home to the Rocky View County Fire Department. Rocky View County Fire Department provides fire protection services to the Elbow Valley and Bragg Creek communities.

The newly constructed facility has accommodations to house 10-15 firemen. The facility includes two drive-thru bays to house fire trucks and equipment. The emergency centre features a modern kitchen, workout facilities, lounge area and meeting rooms.
